Standard Features 

Tonewoods – Solid woods are used throughout including binding/purflings/inlays, certain woods will attract an extra charge, this will depend on a number of factors.

 Necks – Constructed with mahogany or a suitable wood (agreed in advance) in a 5 or 3 piece lamination with rosewood/sycamore (other options available) and are joined to the body with a traditional dovetail joint. Cantilevered necks are available with certain body styles and they use a bolt on joint. They of course will have an adjustable truss rod.

Fretboard – Ebony is used as standard, the fretboard is bound, double purfling lines are available as standard between the binding/neck and continue under the headstock facing.  – various options are available for inlay markers. Other woods can be used on request

Body Shape – I have five body shapes – Parlour, Concert, Grand Concert, Medium Jumbo and  Jumbo.

Inlays – Copper coin logo headstock inlay

Tuners – Gotoh 510 tuners 

Hard Case – Commissioned builds are presented in a Hiscox Case 


Options/Extras

Tonewoods – The options are endless, I will discuss at length what wood combination best suits your brief. Some woods due to rarity and visual impact demand a higher price. We can work together to put together a design that fits your vision and budget.

Cutaway –  Options include Venetian, florentine and bevel cutaways. The basic charge is £350Prices may vary due to other design choices such as purflings, inlays, bevels etc. 

Bevel – Options include Arm Bevel, Rib Bevel and cutaway bevel. The basic charge for an arm bevel is £400, prices will depend on tonewood selection.

Scale Length – 650mm, 640mm as standard, available in 14th and 12th fret options.

Fanned Frets – 650mm – 680mm £500 option.

Baritone – 28.5″scale length. 8 and 6 string options available.

Body Shape – Wedged body, offset soundhole (with cantilevered neck) available at no extra cost.

Inlays – Custom bound wood fret markers £150, other options are available on request, prices will vary.

I am always testing and developing new ideas that can be offered on custom builds. I am open to receiving requests for unique ideas, they will be discussed at length and a price will then be agreed upon.


Ordering Process

and the build

To commission a guitar simply get in touch. We will discuss at length your requirements and expectations. I always provide as much information as possible as to what options I feel will give us the best outcome to suit your needs. With all the plans in place, the specification will be signed off along with the final cost.

  • A non-refundable £800 deposit is required to secure a build slot. The timing of which will be discussed and finalised before hand
  • 40% of the final cost is paid half way through the build
  • Final payment to be made upon completion

From the outset I will provide you with frequent updates, including photographs and brief descriptions of the processes taking place.
